Less than 9 hours to go
Hey all,
I'm typing this out as we are approximately 9 hours away from December 1st on the west coast! I'm aiming to have the "For You" songs posted just after midnight (PST) if I can help it.
There are new things to announce:
1. Our Myspace profile has made friend number 1999. We're very happy about this. Next stop: 3121!
2. purpletapes.com no longer points directly to our blog. Instead, it points to a new index page. The songs will be up in a matter of hours, but in the meantime there are handy links to the blog, the Myspace page, and...
3. There's a new page for the song tally! It should be a lot easier to update from this point on, because Niveous and I are getting a decent system in place for keeping up with these things.
If you still want to submit a song using one of the titles, there is still time, but not much. Completed songs should be sent to purpletapes@gmail.com.
Check back tomorrow for the first batch of songs, and for the new titles!

11 Days into November
Hey all,
The Purple Reign Myspace page now has over 1,000 friends! This makes us happy. If we could even get 5 percent of those friends to write an original song based on one of the titles from "For You", that would be even better!
Currently, We're 11 days into November and five complete songs have been submitted! It's not a bad start, but there's certainly room for more.
We're calling on you to help us out, internet geek musicians! Find out all about it on The Purple Reign Myspace page, and purpletapes.com
We're just under three weeks away from the first wave of songs. If nothing else, we hope you'll come to enjoy some free music on December 1st.

The object is to create an original song based on one of the titles from Mr. Purple's first album.

Let's Go Crazy!
From the minds of Niveous and Glenn Case comes The Purple Reign.
This project came about as a result of a musician we will call Mr. Purple.
Mr. Purple is a great musician but there's one thing about him that irks us, his super obsession with copyrights. So we came up with an idea.
Each month, we and any other bands who would like to join us in this endeavor (the more bands the better) will make original songs using the titles of Mr. Purple songs. Then we will post them to our web space and go on, until we have created an entire library of Mr. Purple tunes that aren't Mr. Purple tunes.
The small person in Minneapolis or at least someone is bound to take notice, especially if we get this in a large enough scale. So we need your help. The more songs, the bigger the project. You get the idea.
The first Purple Reign will start in November with Mr. Purple's first album: For You.
